Economic Policy Uncertainty and the Co-Movement between REITs and Exchange Rate

The REITs market has attracted a lot of interest among the academic, policymakers, and participants. linkages between macroeconomic financial variables have been adequately explored in literature, with more emphasis on linear models. This study expands frontier knowledge by examining role uncertainty comovement/spillover currency markets. Some interesting results were observed. First, using Diebold Yilmaz (2012) spillover test, we find that there is strong connectedness Second, BDS test shows nonlinearity very crucial factor to be put into consideration when EPU affecting interactions exchange rate Third, non-parametric causality-in-quantile confirms markets stronger around lower middle quantiles. These important policy implications for policymakers also offers suggestions future research.
